British sofa retailer Sofology has teamed up with actor Owen Wilson for its second instalment of TV ads.
Instilling the importance of feeling happy, comfortable and ‘at home on a sofa you love’, the adverts capture Wilson, of films Marley & Me and Wedding Crashers, achieving the art of relaxation in a mixture of settings.
Owen Wilson, star of the advertisements, said: “It’s nice to be working with Sofology again and it’s cool to build on what we did last time and play around with these a bit more. What better way to spend a day than taking it easy on a comfortable sofa?”
Depicting Wilson in an LA-esque home, the adverts first draw on the star and a canine companion reclining on Sofology’s new launch Odessy leather sofa, whilst the actor muses about being way too comfortable to go surfing.
Featuring a crafted wooden surfboard boldly mounted onto the wall, the ad draws parallels between traditional carpentry and modern technology used in both sofa and surfboard manufacturing, visually comparing the sophisticated, contemporary clean lines of both.

Partnering with Alpha Century to deliver creative and collaborating with brands Gibson Guitar, Lignum Surf and Wedgwood, the commercials propel Sofology into their next phase of development as they prepare for significant growth. With five new stores set to open by May 2020, more customers than ever will be able to enjoy the innovative Sofology shopping experience. Locations such as Belfast, Peterborough and Cheltenham will soon have their very own Sofology store.

Alpha Century partnered with Talent Republic, independent talent-brokering consultancy, to secure Owen Wilson. Airing on ITV tonight, 21 August, at 19:45, the TV ad will also premiere on Sofology’s digital channels followed by a series of exclusive social videos.
