Kitchen brand celerates 90 year history

Kitchen brand SieMatic continues to set new standards as it celebrates 90 year anniversary.

The company was founded in 1929, then still under the name August-Siekmann-Möbelwerke, in Löhne, Westphalia, where SieMatic’s headquarters are still located today.

In September, the anniversary celebrations also take place there – under the motto “Timeless by Tradition”.

“Kitchens have long since moved to the centre of the living space and will establish themselves even more strongly as the central place for family and friends in everyday life. We will continue to actively shape this place in the future,” says Ulrich W. Siekmann, CEO of SieMatic and grandson of founder August Siekmann.

SieMatic is marking the milestone with its new SLX PURE collection, which is the nenterpretation of the handle-free kitchen is as aesthetic as it is functional.

SieMatic also uses the anniversary year for some changes. For example, the SieMatic Forum, which has been held as part of the MOW since 1995, has a new name: SieMatic Interior Design Days.

The name illustrates both the reality in the premium kitchen market and SieMatic’s claim to create living environments rather than kitchens. Numerous international trade visitors are expected at the fair in mid-September in Löhne to discover current innovations in the exhibition rooms of the “August-Wilhelm Siekmann-Forum”.

Another highlight of the anniversary year was and is the SieMatic ID Contest. It demanded outstanding room and kitchen planning with exceptional design quality and creativity.

For this, the very first SieMatic ID Contest, a total of well over 300 projects from 25 countries were submitted by planners, architects and end customers and it is planned to hold this competition every two years in future.

The eight-member, international and high-level jury honoured one winner each in the categories “Best of the Best”, “Best of PURE”, “Best of URBAN” and “Best of CLASSIC” and awarded the “Honorable Mention” to a further 23 contestants. The winners will be presented and honoured at the SieMatic Interior Design Days.
