Home sales down despite positive own brand uplift

John Lewis’ own range sees double-digit growth but was not enough to offset a declining Home sector.

According to its latest weekly sales figures to 17 August 2019, total sales for the week were down 2.8% on the same week last year.

Home sales were down 5.9% but sales of the House by John Lewis range were up 15%, as students prepare to go to university next month.

Elsewhere, Fashion sales were down 4.3%, whilst Electrical and Home Technology sales were up 1.3%.
