Dams announce double ISO certification

Dams, the office furniture specialist, are delighted to have been awarded both ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, which are internationally recognised standards that ensure their products and services meet the needs of customers through an effective quality management system and protecting the environment.

When Dams Furniture opened their new upholstery factory earlier this year which brought their manufacturing and assembly together on one large site in Knowsley, Liverpool, the company made a strategic decision to upgrade their quality management and environmental management systems to the latest ISO standards.

The world’s most popular quality management system standard, ISO 9001 helps businesses prove their ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. And in line with Dams Furniture’s goal to build a sustainable business, the ISO 14001 accreditation ensures that their UK manufacturing operations meet the latest standard requirements, helping to supply environmentally sound solutions, reduce carbon footprint, better manage waste and air emissions, and reduce energy and water consumption.

“We are proud to have been audited for both ISO standards without any non-conformities.” says Managing Director, Chris Scott. “Achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification is fantastic news and means our customers have complete assurance our products operate to the highest quality standard, and that our UK manufacturing operations are at the forefront of environmental performance in the office furniture industry.”

“I am extremely proud of the whole team for the achievement, which proves theirs and the company’s commitment to ensuring quality and providing the best possible service to our customers. We are dedicated to constant improvement and development, and achieving and maintaining an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditation ensures we have the processes and systems in place for this.”

Gaining the latest ISO certifications reinforces Dams’ relentless focus on creating industry-leading products and services, measured against global benchmarks of industry excellence and environmental performance.
