Best of British at JFS

An essential component of the UK’s economy, furniture, bed and furnishings manufacturing in the UK is worth £17.5billion per annum and collectively employs 338,000 people throughout the UK.

January Furniture Show is the UK’s premier furniture and interiors event and is the best place to see the greatest concentration of the ‘Best of British’.

Birmingham’s NEC — will once again host JFS in 2020, with the four-day trade show running from 19th-22nd January.

“Synonymous with quality, style, outstanding design and craftsmanship, British Furniture is held in high esteem throughout the world,” says Cleere Scamell, January Furniture Show event director.

“The mix of designs and inventiveness on show from British companies is second to none.

“We have a full complement of prestigious British companies in upholstery, beds, cabinet and accessories showing at JFS in 2020 and we are proud to provide the optimum arena for them to display their ingenuity, creativity and desirable furniture.”

Partnering January Furniture Show, the BFM (British Furniture Manufacturers Association) will promote and represent their members at JFS — many of whom are household names with Ashley Manor, Buoyant, Duresta, G Plan Upholstery, Gallery Direct, ercol, Furmanac, Highgrove Beds, Lebus, Parker Knoll, Silentnight, Sherborne, Tetrad, Westbridge and Whitemeadow being just some of the big names among them.

Regular exhibitors Tetrad have huge expertise in making traditional British designs look brand new with their Heritage, Harris Tweed and Signature collections. For more than 50 years they have pushed the boundaries with form and fabric choices. Equally at ease with producing traditional shapes dressed in tweed, they also produce ultra-modern styles in vibrant colours as they smoothly blend textures and materials.

Sherborne Upholstery has nearly 90 years of British furniture manufacturing tradition behind them. Holding their destination spot in Hall 5, they will present their considerable collection of cleverly-engineered  practical seating and beds, designed with relaxation in mind. Recliner chairs, settees, fireside chairs and stylish adjustable beds will all be on show.

Family business Furmanac has a 50-year history and a passion for creating high-quality beds and chairs, designed to provide superior levels of comfort. The UK’s largest adjustable bed manufacturer and an industry leader in ‘lift and recline’ chairs, Furmanac is another destination stand in Hall 5, where visitors will be able to see the latest models in their Hestia, MiChair and MiBed collections.

ercol are one of the most recognisable names in British furniture manufacturing and celebrate their centenary in 2020. Combining function with beauty and expert craftmanship, their cabinet collections stay not only current but desireable too. Their stand in Hall 1 will be curated with precision and full of modern designs with a traditional echo.

British manufacturing talent and expertise will be on display throughout the five halls of January Furniture Show — particularly in beds, mattresses and upholstery. Many of our long-established companies continually develop and invest in new technology, delivering refined and high calibre furniture.
